under the Companies Ordinance (Cap.\u00a0622) officially commenced,\u00a0accompanied by Companies Registry External Circular No.\u00a08\/2023.\u00a0This statutory milestone introduced fundamental procedural adjustments for Trust and Company Service Providers (TCSPs) conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and corporate secretarial filings across Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>Under Phase 3,\u00a0data subjects\u2014such as company directors and company secretaries\u2014may apply to the Registrar to withhold their usual residential addresses and full identification numbers contained in registered documents from public inspection.\u00a0In response,\u00a0the public register replaces these details with correspondence addresses and partial identification numbers.\u00a0To perform statutory CDD obligations under Schedule 2 of the AMLO,\u00a0TCSPs must formally apply to the Companies Registry as &#8220;Specified Persons&#8221; to access withheld and protected data.<\/p>\n<p>Concurrently,\u00a0the Companies Registry fully implemented the Unique Business Identifier (UBI) across all entity types and launched its revamped e-Services Portal on the same day.\u00a0Corporate secretarial teams must adapt internal workflows to ensure their staff hold verified e-Services user accounts to retrieve complete,\u00a0unabridged company extracts.\u00a0Relying on
